  34. Stuffed lamb with oriental rice and nuts Net +1

Overall, everything was delicious, and the staff were very kind and fast.”

  38. Mixed grill Net 0

    Only neutral feedback

“The mixed grill arrived next. The first issue was presentation: if you’re serving a relatively small portion, the plate size should reflect that. In this case, the plate was far too large for the portion, which makes you feel short-changed as a diner. The meat was decently seasoned, but the lamb pieces were dry, while others were fine. Overall, it was acceptable but nothing memorable.”

Drinks 1

  1. Avocado shake Net +1
“Also felt they were racist and preferred to cater the people belonging to their community rather than us. Only the Avocado shake was worth the price. I will not go there again.”

Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 5
1

Come early. Arrive early or visit off-peak if possible; one diner recommended allowing 90 minutes for lunch because waits can build.

2

Request bread. If bread does not arrive with the meal, ask for it; one table had to request the bread separately.

The Bottom Line

Al Hallab is a Lebanese restaurant and sweets spot inside Mall of the Emirates in Al Barsha. It suits a proper mezze-and-grills meal, a quick mall stop, or a dessert run. Reviewers particularly mention mixed grills, shish tawook, hummus, fresh Arabic bread and Lebanese sweets such as Halawt al Jibn and baklava.

The food is often the main draw. Shish tawook has been praised for being juicy, tender and well marinated, while mixed grills, hummus with meat, falafel and stuffed lamb all receive strong individual mentions. The warm bread and olives served at the start are a welcome touch, and the setting is generally described as comfortable and family-friendly.

Breakfast trays and home-style daily dishes also appear in the reviews. Service is less predictable than the cooking. Some visits are described as quick and attentive, but others involved long waits for water, ordering or the bill; one diner waited nearly 40 minutes for food.

The restaurant can also become crowded, and mixed-grill portions have been called small for the price. Arrive early or allow extra time, check that bread arrives, and clarify takeaway orders before leaving. For dessert, save room for Halawt al Jibn, baklava or the avocado shake topped with kunafa.
