Confirm Availability. Call to confirm the doctor is still available before travelling for an RTA eye test; one customer arrived after being given a 10am–4pm window.
Ask About Trials. For a difficult or high-power contact-lens prescription, ask whether a trial and close-match order are possible.
Request Updates. For ordered lenses, ask whether WhatsApp updates are available; a customer found the ongoing communication useful.
Check Turnaround. If you are leaving sunglasses for repair, ask about the expected turnaround; one pair was fixed and returned the next day.

The Bottom Line
Aster Opticals Bluewaters is a practical stop on Bluewaters Island for eye tests, prescription glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses. Reviews are especially useful for people who need more than a straightforward frame purchase: one customer with a high-power contact-lens prescription received a trial prescription, a close-match order and collection roughly 14 hours later. Another had sunglasses repaired and returned the next day.
The shop also handles driver’s-license eye tests and renewals. One review calls that process smooth and quick, while another gives an important warning: a customer was told by phone that an RTA eye test was available from 10am to 4pm, then arrived to find the doctor had already left. Confirming availability before setting out is wise.
Customers describe a broad designer-frame selection, helpful guidance during eye checks and patient assistance with choosing lenses or glasses. WhatsApp updates were particularly useful for an ordered contact-lens prescription. There are no customer-reported prices in the supplied reviews, so it is worth asking for a current quote before ordering.
For repairs or special prescriptions, ask about timing and stock rather than assuming same-day service.
