  5. Papdi chaat Net +2
“We had the opportunity to visit this place, which offers a wide variety of foods, snacks, and sweets. I love their sweets and ordered 1 kg of mixed sweets as gifts and for myself. As we were heading towards Abu Dhabi, we decided to get paapdi chaat and bread pakoras as snacks. We enjoyed the chaat, but honestly, the bread pakoras were cold and dry on the outer layer of Baisan (chickpea Flour) due to its coldness. They didn't warm them up before serving. While the taste was good, we know that bread pakoras are best enjoyed hot. Most of the items are overpriced. Additionally, finding parking is a major issue in this area, and we had to search to avoid getting fined.”

What to Avoid (10)

Food 10

  1. Aamras Net −1
“Since Mango mania was widely advertised I went in on 7th June 2026 at about 2 pm to have lunch of Bedmi puri + aamras combo meal .! Expecting aamras to be fresh when mangoes are in season and available overstock at e very supermarket and grocery across Dubai ,I was greatly disappointed to the version served there .pale yellow, watery, and definitely canned with some essence added giving a weird flavour.”
  2. Bread pakoras Net −1
4. Jalebi Net −1
“I purchased jalebi last night expecting the usual high standards associated with the Bikaner brand. Unfortunately, the quality did not meet my expectations this time. The jalebi did not seem very fresh and was missing the crispness and authentic taste that I normally associate with your sweets.”
  5. Pain puri Net −1
“Absolutely Rubbish and stale food we ordered pain puri puri was stale their excuse was the ac is on.. The samosa was again half cooked and stale.. Don’t waste your time and money to come here..”
  6. Paneer pakoda Net −1

The Bottom Line

Bikanervala in Al Karama is a casual vegetarian Indian restaurant for chaat, sweets, breakfast-style dishes and fuller meals. The clearest draws are chole bhature, dahi puri, papdi chaat and the Indrani Cup, with thalis and Indo-Chinese dishes adding more choice than a typical snack stop. Several diners also mention prompt, friendly service and a relaxed setting.

The menu has some useful seasonal and late-hour appeal. One customer found fresh, hot food at 3 am, while another recommends the winter makki di roti. During Navratri, the restaurant serves an onion-and-garlic-free fasting menu, including a fasting thali reported at 39 AED.

Reviews also describe a wide range of sweets, though individual items do not always perform consistently. That inconsistency is the main reason to stay observant. Customers have reported stale samosas, pani puri and paneer pakoda, while complaints about hard gulab jamun, less-crisp jalebi and disappointing aamras suggest checking freshness before buying a larger takeaway order.

One diner also found the chole portion small for two bhature. Parking around the Al Karama outlet can be difficult on weekends and holidays, and a watermelon juice once took over 40 minutes, so busy periods may require patience.
