Food 8

  1. Baguette Net −1
“I buy sometime from them fresh bread in the morning, but it become more and more challenging. Often either they don’t have anything available in the morning at the opening around 8.30-9.00 AM, or today I was offered to buy bread from yesterday! Ok, not a big deal. I wanted to leave without purchasing, but the waitress started to persuade me that it is normal to buy « fresh » baguette from yesterday. It was dry and hard as a rock, but the chef came from the kitchen and started to explain again why I should take their yesterday made bread.”
  2. Burger Net −1
“But the burger is the height of the delitancy of the kitchen staff.”

  4. Crispy chicken burger Net −1
“I ordered a crispy chicken burger what I received was a piece of stone.”
  5. French onion soup Net −1
“Firstly, the so-called French onion soup was sour and the crackers were completely soaked and upset in the liquid, the cheese that was grated on top was without a crust and completely tasteless, most likely this is due to the fact that it is very cheap and it is a cheese product and not cheese.”
  6. Fresh bread Net −1
“I buy sometime from them fresh bread in the morning, but it become more and more challenging. Often either they don’t have anything available in the morning at the opening around 8.30-9.00 AM, or today I was offered to buy bread from yesterday! Ok, not a big deal. 7. Nutella crepes Net −1
“The Nutella crepes was cold and stuffed with chocolate and cream.”
  8. Poached eggs Net −1

Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 5
1

Check water. During Ramadan, confirm whether water is complimentary before ordering; one diner found it added to the bill.

2

Choose seating. Ask for a table away from the bar if you want a quieter meal, since the glass and shaker noise was noticeable.

The Bottom Line

Bon Appétit is an oriental-fusion restaurant and café in Al Barsha South where you can come for a full meal, breakfast, coffee or something sweet. Reviews specifically mention the grilled chicken, mushroom soup, chocolate milkshake and crepes, including a crepe called the “heart attack”. The menu is broad, and customers also mention bakery items and sweets.

The setting is one of the stronger draws. Reviewers describe it as spacious, clean, cosy and calm, with enough room for working, conversations, football evenings and events. Dish presentation was praised during iftar, and Ramadan buffet service received positive comments about the variety and prompt clearing of plates.

Prices are described as affordable or not overpriced. The experience is not perfectly consistent. One detailed visit found a barely warm burger, overcooked poached eggs and weak soup, while another customer received a stale chocolate éclair.

Indoor smoking was also reported, and a separate diner complained of mosquitoes. If quiet matters, avoid sitting beside the bar, where glass and shaker noise can be distracting. Parking may require leaving the car outside the lane and walking in the heat.

For morning bread purchases, ask whether it was baked that day.
