What to Avoid (2)

Food 1

  1. Club sandwich Net −1
“The menu is offering club sandwich, salmon bagel, pasta, and few other international dishes. The salad that came with the Salmon bagel was a supermarket mixed leaves, plus their own dressing. I wouldn't mind this cuisine, if it was not tagged as a FRENCH restaurant. It's not, it's just a commercial / international positioning of French cuisine. The club sandwich was shy of having enough chicken (see the photo).”

Drinks 1

  1. White wine Net −1
“The white wine provided was overly dry and potent compared to my meal. I would have preferred a smoother, lighter option to complement the dish.”

Tips for a Better Visit

1

Confirm Tables. If visiting in the early evening, confirm table reservations first: one guest found conflicting explanations for a supposedly reserved table.

2

Try Scones. For afternoon tea, look for the scones with clotted cream, one of the clearest recurring recommendations.

The Bottom Line

CHOIX is a cafe-restaurant and patisserie in Dubai Festival City, with the strongest reviews focused on afternoon tea and pastries. You can order a business breakfast, settle in for coffee and light bites, or book afternoon tea with a broad tea selection, savoury treats, desserts, scones and clotted cream. The pastry counter is a reliable reason to visit.

Reviewers mention excellent eclairs, macarons that are not too sweet, almond croissants and carefully balanced pastries. The business breakfast is described as plentiful and good value, while lunch is more mixed: praised dishes include linguine with Black Tiger prawns, tortellini and a local-shrimp Caesar salad, but one diner found the menu more international than traditionally French. The setting is bright, calm and elegant, with views towards the Dubai Library and Festival City; the terrace is an appealing choice when the weather allows.

It also suits small celebrations: reviews mention decorated tables, flowers, birthday touches and careful attention to allergens. Complimentary valet or self-parking has been reported. Budget for hotel-style pricing: a club sandwich was reported at AED 100 and a salmon bagel at AED 105, while an Ice Americano was AED 33.

Check afternoon-tea inclusions, and confirm table arrangements if visiting at a busy time. The lobby can be noisy, and one delivery review reported a duplicate charge.
