Tips for a Better Visit
Ask about RTA. For a driving-licence renewal, ask whether the eye-test report can be uploaded to the RTA site as part of the visit.
Check delivery. If you cannot return to collect glasses, ask about home delivery; reviewers say it was arranged once the order was ready.
Discuss correction. With a complex prescription, ask about contact-lens options; one high-myopia and astigmatism order was reported comfortable.
Request adjustments. After receiving glasses, ask for fit changes if needed; a repeat customer says adjustments continued until full satisfaction.
Ask about payment. If you are not carrying cash, check the available payment methods before paying; one customer found the alternatives convenient.

The Bottom Line
CONVEX OPTICAL in Al Barsha is geared towards practical eye care and eyewear shopping rather than just quick frame browsing. You can book an RTA driving-licence eye test, have prescription glasses made, or order prescription contact lenses. Reviews also mention swimming glasses with prescription, which is a useful option for families with specific needs.
The eye-test process is a recurring strength. Customers describe it as fast and professional, with one review saying the report was uploaded to the RTA site and another saying the report arrived within an hour. A separate customer completed the licence renewal process, including help with the RTA app, in about 30 minutes despite spending extra time browsing frames.
For eyewear, reviewers highlight attractive designs, advice on choosing frames for a face and budget, and lens guidance. One customer collected prescription glasses the next day, while another received new lenses in two days. Complex prescriptions are not overlooked: high-myopia and astigmatism contact lenses were described as light and comfortable.
Home delivery has also been arranged for finished orders, and multiple payment options were available for at least one customer. Prices vary by service and product; one older review reported AED 140 for a driving-licence eye test, so confirm the current fee before visiting.
