Food 6

  1. Takoyaki Net +5
“The Takoyaki is so good, with the ginger mayo/creamy Base ufff and the gyozas delicious”
  2. Chicken karage Net +3
“- chicken karage - 9.5/10 It is so good, i might come back specifically for this, the chicken is crispy, soft and juicy, paired well with the sauce they provide. If you order ramen you must order this, its the perfect pairing.”
  3. Spicy miso ramen (chicken) Net +3
“- Spicy Miso Ramen (chicken) - 9/10 So, spicy miso and the chefs special have the same broth and i realized it wasnt the broth i hated last time but its the toppings, the chicken chashu & veal bacon, which changes the broth flavour. The broth is still on the milky/creamy side but doesnt have the weird after taste that chefs special noodles had & felt light on the stomach.”
  4. Chicken gyoza Net +2
“The food was absolutely delicious, the TanTan Ramen was rich, flavourful, and perfectly comforting, and the Chicken Gyoza were fresh, juicy, and packed with taste. Every bite was satisfying!”
  5. Chicken katsu Net +2
“I also ordered one chicken Katsu which was crispy on the outside & chicken was juicy inside.”
  6. Miso ramen Net +2
“My soul search for the best ramen is still on the run but this ramen house is still.. and I guess will always be my 1st love. Though the place was very small (I went to the DIFC branch).. its always crowded. I cant remember how many times I went to this place and how many times their miso ramen served as my “therapist” on my gloomiest day. The taste is sooo satisfying from the 1st sip and the noodles has a life of its own. Its not just about the taste that makes me come back but most especially.. that experience of connection to the food. No no.. Im not a food expert, just a well satisfied ramen addict. One of the best. Congratulations and keep it up!”

    Mixed feedback

“This ramen is AMAZING, I actually can't stop thinking about it since I ate it. This will be our go to ramen from now on. Get the Veggie OG (as opposed to the lighter version)”

Drinks 1

  1. Voss water Net +1
“VOSS water? Really? In a tiny little place that looks more like a storage room? The only option served for water is VOSS, in a 300 ml bottle for 17 aed?”
What to Avoid (2)

Food 1

  1. Chef's special Net −1
“We came here on our anniversary night with such high hopes, ordered the chef's special and OG Veggie, both were bland despite asking for it to be "spicy" the broth had a powdery, grainy texture which was so unpleasant, there was no flavour in the broth/ramen. The chef's special had only 3 small pieces of veal bacon.”

Drinks 1

  1. Hibiscus drink Net −1
“Hibiscus drink is very concentrated. They dont have much variety on drinks, hope you can consider more iced tea flavored drinks.”

Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 6
1

Choose OG. For vegetarian ramen, order the Veggie OG rather than the lighter version; one diner found it exceptionally convincing.

2

Add chilli. If you want more heat, ask for chilli oil; a reviewer found it improved the Chef’s Special broth.

The Bottom Line

Daikan Ramen is a small, ramen-focused Japanese restaurant in Jumeirah Lake Towers. The main draw is its hearty broth: customers particularly mention the Chef’s Special, spicy miso ramen and tonkotsu, with noodles that stay thick, chewy and well cooked. The chicken gyoza and takoyaki are worthwhile sides, while the Veggie OG is a notable choice for vegetarian diners.

The setting is casual, dark and compact, with a cosy atmosphere that some compare to eating in Japan. It is not a spacious dinner venue, though, and indoor seating can be limited to stools. Paid parking is available, but the restaurant does not take reservations, so busy evenings may mean waiting or sitting outside.

Going earlier is the safer bet. Service is often described as friendly and fast, but dinner rushes and online orders have also caused missed orders, slow meals and delayed bills. Summer comfort is the main caution: several reviews mention weak or unavailable AC, humidity and noisy fans.

Drinks are a relatively small part of the menu. Prices are viewed as reasonable by some diners and high by others, so expect ramen around the mid-range rather than a bargain meal.
