What to Avoid (3)

Food 2

  1. Burger Net −1
“We ordered the burger, which was the only one on the menu, featuring beef and eggplant—it was okay but nothing special.”
  2. Gemista Net −1
“I’ve eaten here for years, I’ve attached photos taken within the last 6 months of Gemista that I ordered compared to what it looks like now. The vegetables are tiny. Tomato is pretty much cherry tomato size & bell pepper fits on HALF my fork. Marrow was raw. The amount of rice in each vegetable is only 1 teaspoon worth. This meal used to be so filling I would take half home. Now I finish the meal, had some of my friends meal AND ate a salad. I asked manager why the change? He said the only change is the rice is now outside the vegetables. This is ridiculous & makes no sense. Gemista is STUFFED VEGETABLES. If you’re serving rice outside of vegetables just call it risotto. Recipe has changed too & just tastes like a can of tomato sauce & soggy rice. Truly awful, overpriced & a waste of time & money.”

Drinks 1

  1. Peach iced tea Net −1
“We also tried the Greek salad, which was fairly standard, and a peach iced tea that didn’t stand out either.”

The Bottom Line

Eat Greek Kouzina in Dubai Marina is a beach-facing Greek restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, suited to a sunset dinner, family meal or celebration. The menu has plenty to explore: reviewers repeatedly mention the mixed grill, prawns saganaki, grilled octopus, moussaka and grilled squid, while the baklava cheesecake is a popular finish. Vegetarian diners also found several appealing choices, including baked feta, tzatziki and Cretan salad.

The setting is a major part of the appeal. There are two floors, a breezy upper level and a terrace with beach views, while the open kitchen lets you watch dishes being cooked. Service is often described as friendly, attentive and quick even when the restaurant is busy.

A gluten-free diner said staff explained the choices and used a separate cooker for chicken, though it is still worth discussing requirements directly. This is not consistently viewed as a budget meal. One guest paid 188 dirhams for ribeye, fries and a Coke, while another called the restaurant overpriced.

Portions were also criticised in one review, particularly a changed Gemista dish said to contain tiny vegetables and very little filling. If you want first-floor seating, reserve ahead; for the strongest atmosphere, time your visit around sunset.
