“Everything I ordered was delicious especially th chick livers 👌🤤”
  2. Chicken shawarma meal Net +1
“The Chicken Shawarma Meal was awesome and could even feed two people”
  3. Falafel with onion filling Net +1
“15 minutes later you ask for your sentence to be completed and order paid, the young boy at the cashier looks at you confused and lost, almost crying, while the Arabic lady continues shouting from behind your back at him and he chooses to continue talking to her, despite being in the middle of your order…..he is then equally confused and scared when you address the lady standing 3 meters behind you asking her to stop distracting him….and of course, all perplexed, continues mumbling TO HER in Arabic, forgetting to give you a receipt (yet I insisted) and eventually……of course giving me a falafel with onion filling instead of cheese filling as ordered and paid….There is acceptable food in many places; rarely one is insulted so badly and not protected by staff despite being in her right. In the very same area, I can easily find another place to buy food. And will most definitely will. Sad for the potential of the actual food. As always, people matter the most; they make it or breaker it; not just the food. You can see my CHEESE falafel in the pic.”
  4. Fatta Net +1
“Chef. Ahmed is a very nice and humble person, who is keen to please the customers and give them the best possible experience, we had a nice delucious breakfast; Falafel, Fatta, and fried mixed platter. And overall,I would highly recommend it for Vegetarians, Arabs, and anyone who wants to try Arabic food and enjoy it 😉 I will come again to try another dishes and sandwiches.”

Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 5
1

Allow Time. Build in extra time for shawarma or delivery; reviews mention waits of 25–30 minutes and longer delays even when the restaurant was not crowded.

2

Check Orders. Before leaving or accepting delivery, confirm the filling, spice level and chicken-versus-meat selection because multiple reviews report incorrect items.

The Bottom Line

Falafel Alkofiya is a Palestinian Middle Eastern restaurant in Motor City where the clearest draw is the falafel. Reviews describe it as fresh, crispy and cooked on the spot, while manakish, chicken shawarma, meat shawarma and hummus also receive enthusiastic mentions. The menu suits a quick snack as well as a fuller Arabic meal, with one customer saying a chicken shawarma meal could feed two people.

The setting is small and cosy, and several diners found the staff welcoming and the atmosphere pleasant. Prices are often described as affordable; one review reports a 5 DHS falafel. Delivery is available, and some regulars order across the menu, but service consistency is the main question mark.

Customers have reported waits of 25–30 minutes for a shawarma, incorrect sandwich fillings, and a much longer delay on a large delivery order. Food quality is not uniform in the reviews. Alongside repeated praise for freshness, some diners reported stale-smelling chicken and shish tawook, overly oily eggplant fatteh, or fatteh that did not seem freshly made.

It is also worth checking the price before paying: reviews mention fatayer changing from 5 AED to 9 AED and a salad being charged at 22 AED rather than 15 AED. For a first visit, falafel is the more consistently recommended starting point.
