Food 1

  1. Tiramisu Net +2
“For dessert, I asked the staff for a recommendation, and they suggested the Tiramisu. I was hesitant at first, as I'm usually not a fan of this type of dessert. I ordered it to-go, thinking I might not finish it. But I decided to try a bite before leaving and to my surprise, it was incredible. Hands down the best Tiramisu I’ve ever had. It literally melted in my mouth and not very sweet. I ended up finishing the whole thing before even walking out the door.😅😅😅”

Food 2

  1. Cheesecake Net −1
“Second of all I was sat right in front of the kitchen door and I could see him holding a plate of cheesecake and at the same time placing his fingers in his mouth, than later proceeds to give the same plate to the customers. This is so disappointing and disgusting.”
  2. Chicken katsu Net −1
“I ordered the Chicken Katsu, which is normally my go-to dish, and honestly it was terrible. The chicken tasted off, the whole dish was covered in way too much sauce, and there was barely any flavor. I only ate a few pieces because I was hungry and left the rest. An hour later I’m home with a stomach ache and had to take a tablet.”

The Bottom Line

Friends Avenue Cafe at Springs Souk is an all-day dining cafe that works particularly well for breakfast, coffee or a relaxed meal. The menu gives you plenty to choose from: reviewers mention the Big Breakfast, Royal Benedict, Chicken Sando, steak and healthy plates such as the Superfood Salad. Portions are described as good value in one breakfast review, and several diners call the food fresh.

Coffee is a genuine draw. Customers specifically praise the honey cinnamon latte, iced matcha latte, iced Spanish latte and cortado, while one regular calls the matcha the best they have had in the city. The setting is repeatedly described as cozy, aesthetic and calm enough for a quiet meal; laptop users can also plug in and work.

There are worthwhile dessert and late-breakfast choices too. The Tiramisu surprised one hesitant customer enough to be finished before leaving, and breakfast appears to run until around 3. Service is often warm and attentive, though the reviews also show inconsistency.

Complaints include a long wait to order, dismissive handling of a requested change, small or slightly cold coffees, table-hogging by workers and one serious hygiene report. It is worth checking your order and the condition of drinks when they arrive.
