The Bottom Line

Gazebo is a contemporary Indian restaurant on Mercato Mall’s first floor in Jumeirah. It suits a relaxed lunch, dinner or shopping break, with comfortable seating and a menu broad enough to require a little guidance. The dishes that receive the clearest praise include biryani, seekh kebabs, butter chicken and Daal Makhani; the Murgh Irani Pulao and Bhuna Chicken (Boneless) also have enthusiastic mentions.

Portions can work well for groups: one review says two biryanis with naan and Chicken Tikka Masala fed six people. Vegetarian diners also have plenty of choice, and the spice level can be adjusted, which helped families with children as well as guests wanting extra heat. Parking is described as easy, with little walking from the car park to the restaurant.

Service is usually a strong point, with reviewers describing staff as welcoming, attentive and helpful with recommendations. Still, the experience is not perfectly consistent. Some guests found dishes bland or tasteless, and others reported slow orders.

Gosht Rogan Josh was flavourful but had tough mutton in one visit. Roti and naan were also considered expensive by one otherwise delighted diner. If you are short on time, visit when you can wait and ask questions before ordering.
