The Bottom Line

Ghantoot Star Restaurant is a casual Bur Dubai spot for Nepali, Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan food. The clearest draw is momo: reviews mention buff momo, chicken momo, jhol momo, momo platters and keema momos. Chicken biryani is another practical choice, described as generous and filling, while shawarma gives the menu a less expected direction.

There is plenty of evidence of good value. A customer reported shawarma with juice for AED 10, and another found chicken biryani generous for a small price. Reviews also describe family seating, fresh juices, comfortable dining and friendly service.

One fasting visitor appreciated being offered Rooh Afza with fruit before ordering. The experience is not completely consistent. Some diners found momos delicious and freshly prepared; others reported dried or stale-smelling food, poor seasoning, or hair in momo and soup.

Service complaints include a one-hour breakfast delay and an order arriving short of the requested portions. Treat freshness and service as things to check on the day rather than assumptions. Ask about spice levels, since one reviewer said the menu was unclear.

If using the upper floor, note that its stairs were described as tricky and slippery; ground-floor seating is available. Pressure-cooker momo may also be seasonal or temporarily unavailable.
