The Bottom Line
Goyals Books and Beyond in Al Qusais is geared towards school shopping. You can look for school books, grade-specific textbooks, notebooks and children’s story books, with reviews describing a broad selection and occasional quick help locating the right title. It may be especially useful when you need books linked to a particular school or curriculum.
The experience is uneven. Some customers say staff quickly identified their requirements, arranged books from a school list or helped them finish a visit in a minute. Another review found the shop well organised and easy to browse.
Those positives sit alongside repeated complaints about rude interactions, unanswered calls and poor follow-up after payment. Stock is the main practical concern. One parent waited nearly 30 minutes before being told Grade 7 books were unavailable, while others described repeated “tomorrow” promises.
Busy periods around school opening can also leave the shop cramped. Check availability before queueing, confirm the required edition, and compare your receipt with the books in your bag before leaving. Online orders deserve extra caution: reviews mention delivery marked complete despite a missing parcel, delayed refunds and contact numbers that did not work.
Pricing is also criticised by some customers, so check whether every bundled item is actually required.
