Drinks 1

  1. Jasmine tea Net +1
“Very disappointing. Simple order. Egg fried rice and crispy chilli chicken. Rice greasy and lumpy like it was 2 days old. Chicken dish not crispy and not tasty. It also arrived 10 minutes after the rice. At least the jasmine tea good. DTF has no concerns compared to this poor offering.”

Food 8

  1. Beef Net −1
“Food was full of MSG & colouring. Beef is like sponge & zero taste of beef due to bicarbonate soda.”
  2. Corn fritters Net −1
“Dessert was fried icecream and corn fritters. Not a big fan of either, but friends enjoyed it. Ask for condensed milk and sweet chilli sauce for the corn, which I think would do better as starter than dessert.”
  3. Crispy chilli chicken Net −1

  5. Fish with pickles Net −1
“A nice but mediocre Chinese restaurant. I don't recommend fish with pickles at all.”
  6. Fried icecream Net −1
“Dessert was fried icecream and corn fritters. Not a big fan of either, but friends enjoyed it.”
  7. Peking duck Net −1
“We ordered the Peking duck. Supposed to get a full duck. We got a pigeon. I guess the restaurant staff stole the rest. Not recommended. Charge extra for pan cakes. Give only 8 pancakes with the Peking duck. Will never go here again. And I disagree with your response. Peking duck is not about giving only skin and keeping all the meat. I have eaten peking duck 1000's of time. Other restaurants cut the duck in front of you.”
  8. Wanton noodle soup Net −1
“The only lacking thing for us was the Wanton Noodle soup- perhaps we’re used to the MSG riddled one in HK and Asia. 😅”

The Bottom Line

Han Cuisine is a Cantonese-leaning Chinese restaurant in Barsha Heights, worth considering when you want more than standard takeaway staples. Reviews highlight the seafood fried rice, dim sum, wasabi prawns and roasted duck, with several diners describing the cooking as authentic and flavourful. The menu also includes less common Cantonese choices such as radish cake and fried milk.

Vegetarian diners have found plenty to eat, and one group says the kitchen was willing to customise dishes. Portions can be generous, so sharing may be sensible. A Tuesday feast for two was described as correctly sized and good value, while another reviewer mentioned an additional 15% discount through Careem or Zomato.

The experience is not completely consistent. Recent reviews include concerns about a 40-minute wait for a main course, declining food quality and a disappointing Peking duck portion with only eight pancakes and an extra pancake charge. Another diner objected to a strong MSG taste, and one found the music and plate clatter distracting.

If you order the duck or visit at a busy time, clarify the serving details and allow extra time.
