Food 3

  1. Harees Net +11
“The harees was everything I had heard it would be and more. The meat was so tender and flavorful, and the harees itself was rich and thick. I could tell that they used a generous amount of meat, as the harees had a deep brown color and I could feel the strings of meat throughout. The price was a bit higher than I expected, but it was worth it for the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend Harees Al Fareej to anyone looking for a taste of Emirati tradition.”

Food 1

  1. Samboosa Net −1
“They are not consistent with the food. One time you will it tasty and when reorder you find it not tasty. The food portion is very small and not worthy for the money you pay. Moreover, they tell lies to sell their food as I was ordering samboosa and asked whether it is spicy or not coz am allergic to spicy food. He informed me immediately, it is not spicy. So, I took a big quantity and when reached home from the first bite I found out it spicy. I believe the customer loyalty is not important to them.”

The Bottom Line

Harees Al Fareej is a takeaway-focused Arab restaurant in Al Khawaneej, and harees is the clear reason many customers seek it out. Reviews describe versions with tender, flavourful meat, a rich thick texture and visible meat strands. It is a good stop for Emirati traditional food rather than a sit-down meal.

Beyond harees, customers mention madrooba, margooga, arsiya, hareesa, luqimat and karak. One reviewer tried harees, hareesa, luqimiyaat, date dessert and suraid and found them authentically flavoured; another enjoyed luqimat with karak. The food is often described as fresh and delicious, while takeaway packaging and quick collection service receive positive comments.

Tasters have also been offered in at least one visit, so asking about samples could help if you are choosing unfamiliar dishes. There is no dining area, and delivery is the main practical caution: one customer reported repeated delays and misleading promised times, recommending self-collection. 50 Dhs and called it poor value, while another found the price higher than expected.

A few serious quality complaints, including excess salt, unusual taste, hair and bones, mean checking your order before leaving is sensible.
