  29. Combo/business lunch Net 0

    Only neutral feedback

“I recently visited this restaurant next to my office and ordered a combo/business lunch. While waiting for our food, we sat in a seating area just outside the restaurant inside the mall, which had a “Reserved” sign. A staff member approached us and informed us that the seating was only for customers who ordered à la carte, and that combo/business lunch orders were not allowed to use those tables. This was surprising and honestly disappointing. If combo meals are offered, customers should be able to dine comfortably without feeling restricted or treated differently based on the type of order. There was no prior information about this policy while ordering, and the interaction felt awkward and we have to carry the food and look for place to eat, I understand the need to manage seating, but it would be better to clearly communicate such policies in advance and ensure all customers feel equally welcome. The food and service were otherwise fine, but I hope the management reviews this policy and improves the customer experience.”

Food 1

  1. Chicken gyoza Net −1
“On the food side, however, there are some areas for improvement. I ordered the soup and chicken gyoza, and unfortunately, both were extremely salty and the portion sizes were quite small. I wouldn’t order those items again unless adjustments are made.”

The Bottom Line

House Of Kabila is a Business Bay Indian restaurant with a Royal Mughlai focus and a broader multi-cuisine menu. You can come for North Indian food, biryani and kebabs, or switch to Chinese and Far Eastern dishes. The reviews give its biryanis, lamb nihari and Sikandari Raan the clearest dish-specific praise, while breakfast also gets a nod for freshly made aloo paratha, egg paratha and chickpeas with puri.

The restaurant is small, with limited seating, so larger groups should arrange seating ahead. One group of eight managed well but still found the venue cramped. Business-lunch diners should also ask about seating before ordering: one reviewer was told combo meals could not use nearby reserved tables and had to find another place to eat.

Service is commonly described as warm and attentive, and spice levels can be adjusted. The atmosphere has been described as quiet, clean and soothing, although one visit included a live band, so the mood may vary. Some diners found portions generous, but another considered a chicken biryani serving too small for the stated price of 57.

There is also a serious review alleging conflicting menu prices, so check the bill before paying. Tea service was reportedly very slow on one quiet visit.
