Honorable mentions (43)
  1. Rainbow heirloom carrots Net +1
“For the starters, we had the rainbow heirloom carrots and prawn toast. Both dishes were delicious, offering different enjoyable textures. But those carrots I’d been hearing about them for a while…I heard they were a must. They did not disappoint.”
  2. Szechuan eggplant with hummus Net +1
“As recommended by the staff, I got their szechuan eggplant with hummus - it came with prata (?). Flavours were interesting but didn’t leave too strong of an impression. Tasty but still somewhat one dimensional.”
  3. Beef potstickers Net +1
“The dishes were full of flavour, generous and really interesting, especially the beef potstickers, the short rib claypot rice and the MB7 beef.”
  4. Bolognese tteokbokki Net +1
“And then there’s the Bolognese Tteokbokki. Comforting, rich, and full of flavor, it feels like a warm hug in a bowl. It’s one of those unexpected dishes that sounds unusual on paper but completely wins you over after the first bite.”
  5. Bulgogi Net +1
“The bulgogi was unreal, and we ended up fighting over the last piece of short rib (it was that good, no shame).”
  6. Business lunch Net +1
“The business lunch (145 AED for three courses) offered exceptional quality and flavour. Each dish was beautifully presented, well balanced, and thoughtfully prepared.”
  7. Chefs taster package Net +1
“We had the chefs taster package (11 courses) with paired wine and were not disappointed. The food was immaculately presented and more importantly very tasty and perfectly prepared.”

“The cumin wagyu short ribs & lamb chop were smoky and flavorful.”
  10. Dan dan noodles Net +1
“The mains we ordered included the Dan Dan noodles and Seabass. Both cooked to perfection, though I could have done with a bit more heat on the noodles.”
  11. Degustation menu Net +1
“I had the degustation menu. Very interesting. Starts very high level”
  12. Dill-icious Net +1
“The mocktail - Dill-icious - was really tasty. Because it was tangy, it got my appetite going before the food came. Also very well balanced - not overly sweet and not overly sour.”
  13. Eleven-course tasting menu Net +1

  20. Mango panna cotta Net +1

“The dishes were full of flavour, generous and really interesting, especially the beef potstickers, the short rib claypot rice and the MB7 beef.”
  22. Mezze platter Net +1
“went to it for iftar, and the mezze platter was amazing but it felt like i paid only for one good thing.”
  23. Miso sea bass claypot rice Net +1
“For my main, I got the miso sea bass claypot rice as the staff mentioned their claypot rice dishes are rather popular. The sauce was flavourful and the fish was soft and melted in your mouth. But - I know this is purely personal preference - the rice was too moist. I enjoy my claypot rice a little drier, to the point that the rice at the bottom chars and forms a “crust” so I felt like that was missing for me. Still a good dish overall though.”
  24. Pani puri with butter poached lobster Net +1
“The food tells a story of travel and migration with a playful, modern twist, and each dish is layered with creativity and grounded comfort. 27. Pre-theatre menu Net +1
“They also have a pre-theatre menu on weekends, which is an amazing deal considering the quality of food and the location.”
  28. S'more Net +1
    “S'more 8/10 ❤‍🔥”
  29. Scallops and corn Net +1
“The scallop dish is a bit misleading since it is not 4 pieces of scallops as they tell you but one horizontally sliced into 4 pieces, but the taste is great.”
  30. Sea bass clay pot rice Net +1
“We tried their Wagyu potsticker, burrata for starters, wagyu short rib clay pot rice, sea bass clay pot rice for main course and Boba creme Brule , s'more for dessert. The food was very flavourful and the meat was cooked to perfection.”

What to Avoid (10)

Food 10

  1. 300G wagyu ribeye Net −1
“The biggest disappointment was the 300g Wagyu ribeye. For a steak priced at nearly $100, it was served cold and lacked any real flavor.”
  2. Boba creme brule Net −1
“We tried their Wagyu potsticker, burrata for starters, wagyu short rib clay pot rice, sea bass clay pot rice for main course and Boba creme Brule , s'more for dessert. The food was very flavourful and the meat was cooked to perfection. I would suggest to steer away from Boba if you are not fond of dessert induced heaviness.”
  3. Compressed watermelon Net −1
“The compressed watermelon tasted like pani puri and avocado.”
  4. Dessert alaska Net −1
“I was not impressed by their dessert Alaska.”
  5. Gyōza Net −1
“The gyōza are in shape of a nems and very oily again. Their sauce was actually great.”
  6. Jerk lamb neck Net −1
“The karage, prawn toast and jerk lamb neck were overly fatty and oily with lacklustre taste profiles.”
  7. Karage Net −1
“The karage, prawn toast and jerk lamb neck were overly fatty and oily with lacklustre taste profiles.”
  8. Pani purri Net −1
“The pani purri that are supposed to be eaten in one bite are way too big.”
  9. Salmon carpaccio Net −1
“We also ordered the Salmon Carpaccio. The menu does not indicate the weight, but the portion felt around 80 grams at most. The taste was acceptable, but clearly not at Michelin-level, especially considering the price.”
  10. Truffle fries Net −1
“The truffle fries were over done.”

The Bottom Line

Jun’s is a modern fine-dining restaurant, cocktail bar and terrace in Downtown Dubai, with a menu shaped by Chinese, Indian, Canadian and wider Asian influences. You can come for a short à la carte meal or settle in for a seven- or eleven-course tasting menu, where dishes are often introduced through stories about the chef’s background and inspiration. The most consistently memorable orders include the lobster pani puri, rainbow heirloom carrots, potstickers and wagyu short-rib claypot rice.

The latter was praised for being tender, rich and packed with flavour, while the carrots have become a signature that some diners specifically seek out. Cocktails also receive strong praise, and families have reported thoughtful touches such as an off-menu pizza for children. Service is a clear strength: reviewers describe the team as warm, knowledgeable and attentive, including careful gluten-free adaptations for diners with celiac disease.

A weekday set lunch and business lunch can offer better value than dinner, with reported prices of AED125 for two courses and 145 AED for three courses. Do note that execution is not perfectly consistent: some visits involved cold or bland food, small portions, slow drinks service or a noisy dining room. Valet is available, and the outdoor area is dog friendly.
