The Bottom Line

L’ETO is an upscale all-day dining cafe in Downtown Dubai, and its biggest draw is the dessert counter. You can come for breakfast, lunch or dinner, then choose from cakes, tiramisu and the much-mentioned milk cake. The latter is repeatedly described as soft, rich and balanced, while the tiramisu and St.

Sebastian cheesecake also receive strong praise. The setting is polished but comfortable, with a covered interior that some guests use for chatting, reading or meetings. Outdoor seating is the move when the Dubai Fountain or Burj Khalifa view is part of the plan.

Families get a kids’ menu plus coloring sheets and pencils, and one pregnant diner said staff accommodated her dietary requirements. There are a few caveats. Prices are higher than at many cafes, and one guest waited almost an hour for food.

Quality has not felt perfectly consistent: matcha, a cheesecake, and the pastry layers of one mille-feuille each drew criticism in individual visits. Dinner can also fill up, so booking ahead is sensible for a busy evening or celebration. Coffee prices were reported from 39 AED upwards, while the cakes are large enough to share.
