  17. Traditional irish breakfast Net +1
“The primary draw is the fantastic, high-energy live music, which makes it a guaranteed fun spot, complemented by excellent, proper pub comfort food like the Traditional Irish Breakfast or the Fish & Chips. The only minor hiccup that keeps this from being a perfect five-star review is the bar service during peak times, such as brunch or match days; it can get noticeably slow when the venue is packed, leading to avoidable queues for drinks.”

What to Avoid (2)

Food 2

  1. Baked brie Net −1
“We ordered a baked brie and the first one that came out, came out after half an hour. I think they forgot about ! It was lumpy, thick - pretty terrible. We sent it back and they brought one out that was still lumpy but watery. Still not great especially for the price. I’m not sure if they use a Brie that shouldn’t be baked, but it was not good. Usually baked cheeses have a cheese pull and are gooey and delicious - not here! My friend also had clear liquid leave her body after eating this 😬! Would avoid.”
  2. Burger Net −1
“Burger was ok but not that good.”

The Bottom Line

McCafferty’s Wafi is an Irish pub-restaurant for live music, sports and substantial comfort food. The clearest draws are the Sunday roast and carvery, with reviews describing beef and turkey, Yorkshire pudding, gravy and sticky toffee pudding. Fish and chips and the Traditional Irish Breakfast are also singled out, while the large screens make it useful for match days.

The atmosphere varies by visit. Live Irish music can be energetic and high-quality, but the terrace has also been described as peaceful and a little reserved on a Saturday night. Indoor and outdoor seating are available, and the dark-wood setting is repeatedly called cosy and welcoming.

Staff are generally praised for being attentive and friendly. Families have plenty to consider: brunch reviews mention pool access, a kids’ corner, ice cream and activities such as pizza-making and face painting. Parking can be validated.

On the practical side, expect slower drink service during busy brunches or match days, and a long carvery queue at peak occasions. Pricing is not universally seen as good value; one reviewer called pub food and drinks pricey, while another enjoyed an AED 129 steak offer with a drink. The baked brie received a notably poor review, so it is safer to choose another starter.
