The Good Stuff
Child engagement
Several children look forward to lessons, practise at home and leave excited to show what they have learned.
Adaptable lessons
One review highlights a teacher adjusting her approach to a child's mood and progress, rather than sticking rigidly to one method.
Inclusive support
A parent says their child with special needs was well cared for and later performed on stage with encouragement.
Visible progress
A young guitar student was reported to be playing a range of Grade 1 songs after two months of lessons.
Clean setting
Visitors describe the branch as clean, relaxing and welcoming, with friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere.
Tips for a Better Visit
Read terms. Before paying, check cancellation, sick-leave and missed-class rules; customers say these can result in losing prepaid lessons.
Ask trials. Ask whether a trial or single lesson is available before committing to a ten-class package, especially for a young beginner.
Clarify scheduling. Confirm when a package activates, how lessons are scheduled and what happens if you cancel, rather than relying on automatic booking.
Check delivery. If buying a piano, confirm the bench, packing and delivery arrangements in writing; one buyer waited two weeks for the bench.
Confirm stock. For instrument purchases, confirm availability again in store and ask who will handle the sale if the first staff member steps away.

Package pressure
Some customers felt pushed to buy lesson packages upfront, without a trial or a single introductory class.

A parent reported short-notice public-holiday cancellations and limited rescheduling choices, with the risk of losing the class.

The Bottom Line
Melodica Music Academy in Dubai Hills Estate is geared towards children and adults learning instruments or vocals. Reviews mention piano lessons for young beginners, guitar lessons, drum lessons and vocal lessons, with children often described as excited to return. The strongest pattern is teacher-led: parents report calm explanations, patient repetition, encouragement when tasks become difficult and teaching adjusted to a child's progress.
There are some unusually specific positives. A child with special needs was described as well cared for and later performed on stage, while another young guitarist was playing several Grade 1 songs after two months. The branch itself is also described as clean, organised and welcoming.
The main caution is administration rather than teaching. Several reviewers objected to buying ten lessons upfront, the absence of a trial, automatic scheduling and cancellation rules that may charge or forfeit a class, including around illness and public holidays. Rescheduling options were described as limited.
If you are considering a package, get the activation, cancellation and sick-leave terms clearly before paying. Instrument buyers should separately confirm stock, testing arrangements, delivery and included accessories: one piano purchase involved a missing bench and delayed follow-up.
