The Bottom Line
Metro Discount Center is a budget-focused discount supermarket in Al Barsha. Shoppers come to browse changing stock rather than a tightly defined grocery range: one review highlights men’s shoes and clothes, while others mention finding something new on repeat visits. Prices and variety are the main draw, with reviews repeatedly describing affordable shopping and good value.
Promotions are worth checking before you shop. A February review mentions weekend promotions, and another says current offers included a free check-in bag. The store is described as easy to reach through Insurance market metro station, which is useful for a quick, car-free shopping trip.
Staff are commonly described as friendly, helpful and ready to assist. There are two reasons to shop with a little care. One reviewer said the product range could be improved, so the selection may not be equally strong across categories.
More importantly, a 2023 review reported a cloth dryer broken on opening, an umbrella breaking after two days and a kettle that stopped working, alongside a rude response from a manager. Inspect electrical or household purchases before leaving and ask about the latest promotion rather than assuming an older deal still applies. Also double-check the map pin: one 2025 visitor could not find the store and found West Zone supermarket at the pinned location.
