  7. Eid buffet Net +1
“Went for the Eid Buffet. Lovely staff who are so happy to help and assist. I had a buffet here last year and the menu changes. I actually preferred the desert selection last year. However, food was well prepared, fresh and suited everyone is our group. Valet parking is available and is free. You have the option to sit in the light glass conservatory to the left as you enter the restaurant, which would be lovely in the cooler months. I think the decor could do with a little updating. With the buffet option you have the choice of pool access too. Would definitely go back again.”
  8. Garlic-buttered shrimp station Net +1
“Our visit to the Saturday Seafood dinner buffet at Oceana Hilton JBR left us with mixed feelings. While the reception was warm and the buffet boasted a variety of dishes, including a standout garlic-buttered shrimp station, our expectations for a seafood-themed spread were not entirely met.”

  4. Saturday seafood dinner buffet Net 0

“Our visit to the Saturday Seafood dinner buffet at Oceana Hilton JBR left us with mixed feelings. While the reception was warm and the buffet boasted a variety of dishes, including a standout garlic-buttered shrimp station, our expectations for a seafood-themed spread were not entirely met. The hot seafood options were limited to shrimp, calamari, and one type of fish. Surprisingly, there was a noticeable absence of seafood salads and any form of sushi, sashimi, or rolls, which are typically expected at such themed buffets. In summary, the buffet offered tasty food and a pleasant atmosphere, but fell short of delivering a comprehensive seafood experience. If you're specifically looking for a wide range of seafood dishes, this may not entirely meet your expectations.”

Food 4

  1. Apple crumble Net −1
“however the buffet was very poor, and certainly not 5* quality. The choice was very limited, and the dishes were not cooked well, e.g roast potatoes were cubed, and not crispy, lamb and rice dish contained hardly any lamb, duck was cooked in a casserole that completely overpowered the duck, and apple crumble had clumps of sugar in the topping.”
  2. Iftar Net −1
“Had iftar here. Definitely not worth the hype. Food wasn’t hot. Taste wasn’t very good either. Not worth the money paid. They ran out of the drinks during Iftar.”

Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 5
1

Arrive earlier. For dinner buffets, consider arriving before the later service period and ask about replenishment if a signature dish has run out.

2

Ask the chef. Vegetarian diners should explain their needs to the team, who may be able to check with the chef and arrange a suitable dish.

The Bottom Line

Oceana Kitchen is a buffet restaurant in Jumeirah where you can come for breakfast, a Ramadan iftar, a festive brunch or a themed seafood dinner. Reviews often point to generous choice: breakfast dishes are clearly labelled, while the Christmas brunch spread included desserts, breads, cheeses, fruit and a cold salad section with shrimps. Iftar diners specifically enjoyed lamb ouzi, beef ribs, Arabic grill and desserts.

Service is the restaurant’s clearest advantage. Guests regularly describe a warm welcome, attentive table service and a pleasant atmosphere, with live music adding a celebratory note during Ramadan. Vegetarian diners have also reported that the team checked requests with the chef.

For occasions, reviews mention birthday dinners, Christmas brunch and family iftar gatherings. The main caution is consistency. Some visits found the buffet limited, dishes cold and refills slow; one guest arriving around 8pm was told the lamb ouzi had finished.

Seafood nights can be worthwhile, but the selection has varied considerably: one review praised garlic-buttered shrimp, while another found only a few hot seafood choices and no sushi or sashimi. Outdoor seating may close early, so confirm it first. One diner reported 145AED for lunch and considered it reasonable for JBR, while free valet parking was also reported.
