  1. Halo-halo Net +2
“But the real reason I'm writing this review, the secret weapon in their arsenal, is the dessert. My girlfriend is Filipina, so she's the ultimate judge of Halo-Halo. Let me tell you, The Olive Tree passed with flying colours. A massive shout-out is in order, as Angel and Tess are ridiculously good at making Halo-Halo. It was the perfect, refreshing end to the meal and genuinely one of the best we’ve ever had in Dubai. It alone is worth the price of admission.”
  2. International buffets Net +2
“The ambience of the restaurant was very pleasant and spacious enough to accommodate around 100 guests. All the dishes were displayed very attractively and beautifully and it was really a feast for our eyes. It was one of the best International Buffets I've ever had.”
  3. Beef bulalo Net +1

Tips for a Better Visit

1

Confirm Iftar. For iftar, confirm the exact serving and eating times before arriving; one group received different timings on arrival.

2

Check Inclusions. If Filipino dishes or a grill matter to you, ask what is actually included that day rather than relying on online photos.

The Bottom Line

Olive Tree Restaurant in Deira is a hotel dining room serving international buffet meals and à la carte food. The reviews make it most appealing for group dining: guests mention breakfast and business-lunch buffets, Filipino dishes, birthday meals and KTV dining. The boodle fight is described as generous and fresh, while the halo-halo counter has earned especially strong praise.

The atmosphere is generally described as clean, cozy, spacious and relaxed, with seating for sizeable gatherings. That helps explain why families, company groups and birthday parties keep appearing in the reviews. Service is another consistent bright spot, with diners describing staff as attentive and approachable even when the restaurant was full.

There is a significant caveat with buffet consistency. Some guests enjoyed a broad, well-prepared spread, but others found iftar food different from the advertised menu, desserts very limited and refills slow or incomplete. Food quality also appears to vary by visit.

If you are booking during Ramadan, confirm the serving timetable and exact menu first; if Filipino food or the grill is important, ask what is available that day. Parking information is mixed: one reviewer reported free basement parking, while another said hotel parking required payment. The restaurant is inside the hotel on the first floor, and one review found it easy to reach by the elevator.
