“We visited the Nonna’s House Saturday Brunch as a group of friends celebrating a reunion, so we were really excited for the experience. We’ve been to quite a few brunches in Dubai before, so we already knew what to generally expect from this type of event. For AED 495 per person, however, I honestly expected a much more luxurious and memorable experience. The cocktails arrived to the table quickly, and the food service was also fast, which we appreciated. The food itself was genuinely delicious, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout the brunch. Unfortunately, there were several things that really affected the overall experience. I waited around 30 minutes for a coffee and had to remind the staff three separate times before receiving it. Also, when we later saw the order summary with all the dishes that were supposedly served to our table, we noticed that according to the receipt we should have received two portions of each main dish — which definitely did not happen. In total, we only received 4 plates instead of the 6 we were meant to get. And the music… honestly, that was the biggest disappointment. The brunch is promoted as an “Italian-style party brunch,” but that could not have felt further from reality. The DJ was unfortunately terrible and played almost no music that created any kind of party atmosphere or encouraged people to dance and enjoy themselves. Guests were basically forced to just stand or sit around talking the entire time because there was simply no vibe. What surprised us even more was that not a single Italian song was played during the entire brunch. That completely killed the atmosphere for us. A brunch should be about energy, fun, music, and enjoying the party vibe — not feeling like you are sitting at a quiet family lunch for several hours. Overall, the food and drinks were very good, and the service was decent, but for this price point, the atmosphere and entertainment were a major disappointment.”

“When ordering the truffle Tagliolini we asked the waiter if it contained cream and if so could we remove it, they told us it did not have cream. To our shock the pasta arrived with a creamy sauce. We had to send it back to the kitchen and one of us ate our meal whilst the other waited which already impacted the experience.”

Request patio. Ask for a patio table if the marina outlook is important; one guest specifically enjoyed sitting outside over the water.
Confirm tables. If you book a window seat, reconfirm it: one party arrived to find no window table available.
Check offers. Before ordering, confirm which mains qualify for Entertainer; a diner found the seafood pasta was excluded after ordering.
Clarify sauces. Ask again about ingredients when modifying a dish: a truffle Tagliolini arrived with cream despite a request to remove it.
Choose brunch. Book brunch for food and drinks rather than a guaranteed party; multiple reviews say the entertainment can feel subdued.
Mind the heat. Outdoor seating can become uncomfortably hot, so consider an indoor table during warmer periods.

Some guests found the brunch too quiet, with no dancing, entertainment or convincing party atmosphere.
At the reported AED 495 per person, one brunch group felt the atmosphere and entertainment did not justify the cost.
Not every pasta or dessert works equally well: one guest found the beef strangozzi too salty and the tiramisu mostly cream.
A recent diner reported smaller portions, a lightly topped pizza and no complimentary bread.
One review describes an uncomfortable response when guests asked for the music to be lowered during the call to prayer.
The Bottom Line
Papas Dubai is a Dubai Marina Italian restaurant built around a polished setting, marina views and a menu of pasta, pizza and celebratory brunches. The reviews most often point diners towards the truffle pasta, pizza, burrata and Gnocci Sorentina, while the patio is a strong draw for an evening with scenery. Indoor and outdoor seating gives you some flexibility.
Service is a consistent bright spot in the feedback. Diners describe attentive pacing, prompt brunch deliveries and thoughtful celebration touches, including an anniversary cake and a honeymoon plate. Gluten-free accommodation is also mentioned.
That said, the kitchen feedback is uneven: one guest loved the pesto pasta and mushroom pizza, while another found the beef strangozzi overly salty, the pistachio tiramisu mostly cream and a beef pasta bitter. Brunch needs a little more scrutiny. Food and cocktails can be good, but some guests found the event closer to a quiet lunch than an Italian party, with weak or absent entertainment.
One review reported AED 495 per person and felt the experience did not match the price. Confirm Entertainer eligibility and any requested table or dietary changes before ordering, and remember that the terrace may become very hot.
