Project Maji
Jumeirah Lake Towers
At Project Maji drinking water charity, we are fighting the water crisis through constant innovation in the rural water space. We have entered an action-research partnership with Practica Foundation of the Netherlands to improve rural water business models. In this project, we are testing a sustainable safe drinking water distribution network, using multiple distribution points to enhance safe water access and encourage willingness to pay for water. A pilot has been rolled out in the Asomdwee Community, Central Region, in Ghana to assess whether this will prove to be a self-sustaining and self-expanding model for rural water provision. Today, 1.42 billion people – including 450 million children – live in areas of high water vulnerability.
