Food 2

  1. Shrimp bucket Net −1
“This was one of the worst food experiences we’ve ever had. We ordered the shrimp bucket, it was swimming in oil and quite spicy. The packaging was a disaster, the plastic cover looked like it was going to melt from the hot food and everything had spilled inside the bag, creating a complete mess. To make matters worse, we ended up with food poisoning afterward. Absolutely unacceptable and a serious health risk.”
  2. Shrimp lava Net −1
“The shrimp lava was not that good, but may be it is just that we didn’t like the taste, first time to try it ever , may be it just not what we were expecting.”

The Bottom Line

Red Shrimps is a casual seafood restaurant in Al Khawaneej where shrimp-led dishes and generous sharing plates are the main draw. The seafood paella is a strong group order: one reviewer found it rich with seafood, well presented and portioned for two. Other named favourites include the Go Crazy shrimps, Tom Yum Soup and seafood boil bucket.

The restaurant suits family meals and larger groups, with indoor and outdoor seating, an artificial-lake view and free parking. Reviews also mention children enjoying the fish and chips and calamari. Service is often described as warm and accommodating, including one late-arriving group whose order was prepared close to closing time.

A no-reservation visit worked for one reviewer, while calling ahead helped another guest fit dinner around a movie. There are important caveats. Multiple summer reviews say the air-conditioning was not working, leaving the dining room very hot; check its status before visiting.

One guest reported a hair in their food, while another described flies entering after the doors were opened at sunset. Shrimp quality also appears inconsistent in a small number of reviews, so raise any problem promptly rather than accepting a reheated dish.
