Food 2

  1. Chicken kebab Net −1
“The beef was a bit chewy, and the chicken kebab had a slightly unusual chewy feeling.”
  2. Kabab koobideh Net −1
“We ordered from Fanoos Restaurant through Talabat, and unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the Kabab Koobideh. The portion size was extremely small. Each skewer was only about the size of a finger joint and was so thin that it looked more like a liver kebab skewer than Koobideh. The two skewers together were only about the size of a single skewer served at most other restaurants. The taste was also disappointing and was nothing like the authentic Kabab Koobideh we were expecting.”

Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 6
1

Dine in. For time-sensitive meals, dine in rather than relying on delivery, since one nearby order took 90 minutes and arrived cold.

2

Try ash. Order the ash if you want a Southern Iranian speciality; it is a thick vegetable soup but is not vegan.

The Bottom Line

Fanoos Layali is a casual Iranian restaurant and bakery in Al Barsha South, with a strong focus on Southern Persian cooking. You can come for grilled meats, mixed platters, ash, Zereshk Polo ba Morgh and fresh bakery bread. The hot tandoori lavash and ragag-style bread are especially useful reasons to visit if you enjoy bread alongside a meal.

The grills receive some of the clearest praise: one diner called the mixed grills huge and tasty, while another found the chicken in the 14-seekh meal excellent. Lemon tikka, wings and mushrooms also made a good impression. Thick yogurt and crisp Shirazi salad are dependable side choices mentioned by reviewers.

Family dining cabins, children-friendly feedback and takeaway make it practical for casual group meals. Pricing is generally described as competitive, with one review putting juicy grills at AED 30–40 and calling the portions good. Parking is not directly outside according to one diner, although the walk is short.

Service is usually warm, but delivery is a weaker point: separate orders reportedly took more than an hour, with one arriving cold. If ordering online, expect possible delays; dining in is the safer choice when timing matters.
