    Only neutral feedback

“We tried a variety of dishes, including the grilled vegetable dumplings, crispy asparagus, Sichuan tofu, monk’s claypot vegetables, and fried rice. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. However, I do have one suggestion: the menu could be clearer in describing that monk’s claypot vegetables are predominantly made up of mushrooms (around 80%). As someone who isn’t a big fan of mushrooms, this detail would have been helpful, as we ended up leaving most of that dish untouched.”

Crowded seating

One review found the seating relatively cramped and the restaurant noisy during a brunch crowd.

The Bottom Line

Royal China is a Cantonese-focused Chinese restaurant in DIFC where the main draw is a broad, shareable menu rather than a quick, casual bite. Start with dim sum or cheung fun, then consider Peking duck or Cantonese roast duck; reviews also point to wonton noodles, crispy prawn rolls and wagyu beef as worthwhile orders. The business lunch gives you soup, one starter and one main in a set format.

The room is described as elegant, warm and tea-house-like, with enough polish for business meetings, family dinners and anniversary celebrations. It can also work for a date, although the atmosphere is not always consistent: one review found it calm and relaxed, while another reported a noisy, cramped brunch service. A smoking section is mentioned in one review.

Service is usually a strong point, with repeated comments about polite, knowledgeable and attentive staff. There are a few exceptions, including missing plates and communication difficulty on one visit. If you have an allergy, tell the team clearly; one diner specifically praised their care.

Prices sit on the premium side for some diners, though others call them reasonable for the quality and DIFC location. Valet is convenient, but check the spend requirement and validate the ticket before leaving.
