“On a evenimy when I felt like having something exquisite and different I came across few comments here speaking highly about “Champaran chicken”. I did end up ordering the super pricey item. No doubt the taste was very good and unique too. However the disappointment was real when two whole garlic knobs was found in the pot and hardly 3 cube size pieces of mutton then I wondered if I ordered mutton or garlic chmaparan. One of the garlic bunch tasted yummy which was at bottom while the top one was just hard garlic which I had to throw. Drinks 1

  1. Chai Net −1
“Excellent and delicious cuisine, quite modest and sincere owners and employees. however, the service provided by the small team is terrible. Tips for a Better Visit

Showing 2 of 5
1

Check Spice. Ask about spice levels: veg biryani, momos and noodles were described as mild, while chilli momos brought a spicy punch.

2

Confirm Portions. If ordering Champaran mutton, confirm the meat portion first; one diner found only a few small pieces in the pot.

The Bottom Line

Spice Deli is an Indian and Pan-Asian restaurant in Jumeirah Lake Towers with a cosy dining room, takeaway service and event catering. The menu gives you plenty to explore, but the clearest starting points from customer reviews are the Mutton Champaran, chicken momos, biryanis and Indian breads. The Pan-Asian side is not an afterthought either: Thai green curry, noodles, nasi goreng and dynamite shrimp all receive individual mentions.

The strongest dish-specific praise goes to the Mutton Champaran, described as bold and rustic after being cooked in mustard oil and garlic, and to the momos, especially the kurkure and spicy versions. Portions are often described as generous, and one repeat customer specifically liked the secure, hygienic packaging for office lunches and takeaways. The setting also suits family meals and gatherings.

There are a few reasons to order thoughtfully. Biryani quality was inconsistent in one recent review, and two diners felt the Champaran meat quantity was disappointing. A past visit also involved a 20-minute wait for chai.

If you are catering, the restaurant has been used for home and outdoor events with buffet setups and customisable options. Breakfast is another useful angle: one review reported a chole bhature platter with dessert for AED 16.
