What to Avoid (4)

Food 3

  1. Eggs benedict Net −1
“We come here from time to time, and we are familiar with Lime Tree caffe as we live In Dubai for 20 years. However, it’s still so weird to see that they serve 95% of breakfast egg dishes with only 1 egg, and for extra you need to pay. I mean, who eats and serves 1 egg for eggs Benedict or any breakfast egg item for a matter of fact. Same applies to acai bowl- haven’t seen smaller bowl than in Lime Tree! Also, they serve Tres Marias almond barista milk which is probably the most untasty milk in Dubai market, gives horrible taste to the coffee, when there are so many better brands to offer! In general, atmosphere is pleasant and local friendly, but portion sizes and non dairy milk options they stubbornly don’t want to give up- needs improvement 100%.”
  2. Mushroom burger Net −1
“Average, very average food. Ordered mushroom burger and not sure what that concoction of things was, especially with boiled bell peppers, mayo and halloumi cheese. I am sorry guys, repurchase rate 0.”
  3. Pancakes Net −1
“Utter shock receiving this morning my breakfast in a damaged bag, wet from all the coffee spilled due to improper holder and broken box of pancakes that was all spoiled. Not to mention a missing item!! Dunno who’s managing that operation.”

Drinks 1

  1. Cortado Net −1
“I ordered cortado with one shot of coffee and more milk, they brought it in another cup and not the one shown to me, it had like half a liter of milk in it ….. smokey tomato shakshuka is what I ordered to eat, came with 1 egg only and so much untasty tomato sauce with vegetables and some feta cheese. I like lime tree, but this branch is not good. Not coming again”

Avoid Peak. For a calmer breakfast and shorter wait, consider a weekday or non-peak time rather than Saturday morning.

2

Order First. Choose your food before taking a table: orders are placed and paid for at the till, and extra drinks require another trip.

The Bottom Line

The Lime Tree Cafe & Kitchen in Motor City combines a coffee house, bakery and food store in a comfortable café setting. Breakfast is a major draw: reviews mention the King's Breakfast, acai bowl and fresh salads, while the carrot cake is the most consistently celebrated sweet. The Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagel is another reliable-sounding choice.

Coffee is also a strong reason to visit, with praise for flat whites, lattes and a strong morning brew. The café has indoor and outdoor seating, natural light and a relaxed feel that works for catching up, a casual meal or a coffee meeting. Free parking and reported wheelchair access add useful convenience.

There are a few practical wrinkles. You order and pay at the till, so decide before sitting down; queues and slower service are more likely when the café is busy, especially on Saturday mornings. Some customers consider the breakfast egg portions and acai bowl undersized, and feedback on the food is not uniform.

For laptop work, check the WiFi situation first: outdoor coverage may be weak and indoor access has reportedly been limited to two hours. During cooler weather, the outdoor tables are a pleasant alternative.
