  10. In-home guacamole Net +1
“In-home guacamole: delicious crisps on the side and guacamole is 90% well smashed! Also, the Chili is amazing! I wouldn’t munch it all day, but when I took it in, accidentally, it was hot but after awhile when I ate more of the guacamole it settled the matter for me.”
  11. Lamb loin with bubble and squeak Net +1
“In the end, I chose the tuna tartare as a starter and the lamb loin with bubble and squeak as my main. Although I am British, I actually have never tried bubble and squeak before and had to be educated on what it actually was- shallow-fried leftover vegetables. It sounded more exotic than it actually was, nevertheless, it tasted good but it was nothing special. The lamb was cooked to medium, well seasoned, and was very tender and dewy, which meant that it was gone in 5 minutes. The tuna tartare which was also very well made but it was not very filling.”

Food 5

  1. Butter chicken Net −1
“The food has taken that age old route of diminishing quality to the point of no longer even bothering to distinguish that a butter chicken has zero chilli and the kitchen is saving money by using the same chicken mix as a tikka massala; or the Chicken kievs sorely lacking in the garlic and butter sauce department and so on and so forth.”

  4. Tofu “fish” Net −1
“Also the tofu “fish” used silken tofu rather than firm and it wasn’t wrapped in a sheet of nori so there was no “fishy” flavour to it.”
  5. Virgin pinacolada Net −1
“Mocktail options are less .So, a bit disappointed. We had passion fruit mojito and virgin pinacolada which was very normal”

The Bottom Line

The Scene at Pier 7 is a British pub-style restaurant, lounge and terrace in Dubai Marina, with its main draw being the open marina view. It suits an easy dinner, Sunday lunch, brunch or drinks with live music. Reviews repeatedly mention the roast beef, shepherd’s pie, seafood linguine and sticky toffee pudding, although individual dishes are not always consistent.

The terrace is the table to target. Diners describe views across the Marina and JBR, with yachts by day and bright city lights after dark. The setting has a retro British feel, and the atmosphere can shift from laid-back pub lunch to a lively evening with a singer.

Portions are often generous, and breakfast reviewers have enjoyed egg Benedict, pancakes and vegan choices. Happy-hour and other drink promotions are a practical reason to visit, with reviewers mentioning cocktails, beers on tap and a Spanish wine selection. Weekend evenings can be crowded, especially for balcony tables, so booking is sensible.

Parking at Dubai Marina Mall was reported as roughly five minutes door to door. Outdoor seating can also be windy, while mocktail choice has been criticised as limited. Food reviews range from excellent hot, timely meals to an ordinary dinner and chewy squid, so come primarily for the view, atmosphere and pub experience rather than guaranteed fine dining.
