    Mixed feedback

“After reading so many negative reviews we were abit hesitant to visit Uncle's Kitchen. However we tried a couple of dishes and it was good , only recommend to put less picked chilles in the schezwan rice , that indeed makes the taste quite salty. Overall had a good experience. Staff was very attentive as well.”

Tips for a Better Visit

1

Try lollipop. Start with the chicken lollipop: it is one of the safest first orders across the reviews.

2

Share soup. Soup portions can be conservative, so consider ordering a full portion per person rather than expecting one to share.

The Bottom Line

Uncle’s Kitchen is a Mumbai-style Indo-Chinese restaurant in Al Karama, and its main appeal is clear: familiar Bombay flavours rather than formal Chinese cooking. The menu gives you plenty to explore, but the most dependable starting points in the reviews are chicken lollipop, chicken wontons, coriander chicken tenders and prawn chilli dry. The setting is casual but reasonably comfortable.

Diners describe a spacious, colourful room with soothing music, a clean restaurant and easy or RTA parking. A family group of 20 also reported quick, well-organised service, including food that arrived on time and worked for children. Late dining is possible too; one group visited close to 11pm and found service good.

There is a real consistency caveat. Alongside enthusiastic reports of fresh, flavourful food, other customers received tiny portions, watery or overly salty sauces, cold noodles, stale fish and dishes that tasted reheated. Soup portions in particular may be smaller than Mumbai diners expect.

One customer also reported a disagreement over a chilli fish dish ordered dry but served with semi-gravy. Prices are not uniformly viewed as a bargain: some call them reasonable, while others find portions poor value. For a first visit, start with the better-reviewed starters and be precise about spice and sauce preferences.
