  1. Rice noodle rolls Net 0

    Mixed feedback

“Previously I have tried their rice noodle rolls, which are ok.”

Drinks 2

  1. Traditional style tea Net +1
“Great traditional style tea. But when it's busy, it's a bit too light on flavour & watery as when they take time to make it (usually creamier more distinct taste). I've seen just 1 staff on the station sometimes, so it doesn't help. Maintain the quality at all times, because this is a very unique product. I've taken away just 1 star for not being consistent. Otherwise hands down one of the best I've had anywhere in the UAE.”
  2. Watermelon juice with spices Net +1
“Simple menu but delicious. Not sure why people are complaining, the watermelon juice with spices is amazing too”
What to Avoid (4)

Food 3

  1. Bok choy Net −1
“Recently they added Peking Duck options to their menu. Portions and prices are good. Duck was moist, crunchy skin, slightly sweet. Really tasty! Only downfall was the "bok choy". It had a wasabi-like flavour.”
  2. Shredded duck Net −1
“Would NOT recommend ordering the shredded duck — it was clearly not shredded, just roughly cut. To be fair, they did ask if I was okay with it having bones, and I said yes. But I still expected actual shredded duck, not just pieces of it. Also, I specifically asked if it was spicy, and they said no — but they still added chili on top. Unfortunately, I can’t tolerate spicy food, so I couldn’t enjoy the dish.”
  3. Shrimp roll Net −1
“Had the worst shrimp roll of my life, I would give zero stars if I could. It is very plain and has no tatse apart from soy sauce.”

Drinks 1

  1. Watermelon drink Net −1
“Had a watermelon drink from them… appeared to be half juice half blended seeds. Tasted like… blended seeds. Not worth a 10 minute wait. No idea what the food is like but definitely wouldn’t recommend”

Tips for a Better Visit

1

Confirm Spice. If ordering shredded duck, confirm both the cut and chili topping; one diner was told it was not spicy but still received chili.

2

Allow Time. Build in extra time, especially if the food court is busy, as multiple reviews mention slow service or long waits.

The Bottom Line

Yue Baby Hongkong Cafe is a Hong Kong-focused Chinese restaurant in Dubai Mall, located in the mall’s Chinatown Asian Food Court. The strongest draw in the reviews is Peking duck: diners describe it as moist with crunchy skin, or praise the soft, juicy texture of the duck leg rice. Shrimp chee cheong fun is another popular order, with one customer calling it authentic, generously portioned and packed with prawns.

There is plenty beyond the duck. Mango sago is repeatedly enjoyed, while dim sum, egg custards, sea coconut sago and the hard-to-find double skin milk bean curd all receive positive mentions. The atmosphere is described as colourful, and some customers say the food tastes like it does in China.

Prices were called convenient or good value in older reviews, but no specific amounts are provided. The main caution is inconsistency. Recent diners report slower service, smaller portions and less attentive staff.

The shredded duck may arrive roughly cut, and a customer who asked for a non-spicy dish still received chili. Takeaway orders deserve a quick check too: one reviewer found the duck missing. If you are visiting at a busy time, allow extra time and confirm portion and spice details before ordering.
