  2. Beef carpaccio Net +2
“For our appetizer we had ‘Beef Carpaccio’: this was really unique and we’ve never had something like this. On a plate filled with thin sliced raw beef with pickles, raw mushrooms, rocca leaves, and a generous drizzle of balsamic dressing and ofcourse shavings of parmesan cheese- this got us saying “mmmm”.”
  3. Fondant au chocolat Net +2
“‘Fondant Au Chocolat’: another famous french classic, this chocolate fondant dessert served with ice cream is the best combination of hot and cold sweet eats. Served hot as you plunge your spoon into that cracked goodness you’re deliciously greeted by a rich, silky-gooey texture of melted chocolate and you know a spoonful ain’t enough. Now that’s a decadent and happy way to end our night and dinner at Beef Bistro.”
  4. Ratatouille Net +2
“The food was really good, for me Ratatouille was the winner, by far the best i’ve ever had….”
  5. Vanilla crême brûlée Net +2
“‘Vanilla Crême Brûlée’: forever in love with the use of vanilla beans over essences, makes a huge difference and the creamy custard consistency was delightful and ofcourse the hardened sugar to be cracked makes it more joyful to indulge this all time favourite! .”

“But wow, the Australian 220g Tenderloin Wagyu 4-5 I had was outstanding - and my partner in crime was equally happy with his 500g Ribeye.”

“I ordered the Austrian Wagyu tenderloin 6-7, it’s so juicy and yummy 🤤”
  5. Beef bistro steak salad Net +1
“’Beef Bistro Steak Salad’: succlent pieces of seared flank steak served with rocca leaves, thinly sliced green apple, cubed roasted sweet potatoes, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, toasted bread and hazelnuts tossed in a simple vinegar dressing. The beef was way too delicious and soft, combine that with the uniqueness of the salad pivots the flavours and ingredients with perfection.”

“Black cod perfectly cooked like butter.”
  7. Bread with anchovy butter Net +1

  11. French beef bourguignon Net +1
“Unbelievable value for money! We really enjoyed the French Beef Bourguignon (stew braised in red wine), best in Dubai. We met the head chef, Lulu, in person. Fantastic evening out!”
  12. Gâteau au fromage Net +1
“‘Gâteau Au Fromage’: Commonly known as Cheesecake, this smooth like butter gâteau was decadent. Now, you may think oh it’s just cheesecake nothing extreme but in all honesty I’ve had fair shares of cheesecake(because I adore them ) and some of them are too rubbery or way too creamy that the textures and taste lacked what it should’ve conveyed. This elegant slice here was perfect, had just the texture a cheesecake should have, the specks of vanilla beans made it authentic and delicious, love the sweetness and the tartness of the berry sauce created a lovely harmony as we dug in. I also loved the soft biscuit base, simply melts in your mouth.”
  13. Grilled asparagus Net +1
“Had the New Zealand Ribeye that was fantastic. Came with two sides- I choose grilled asparagus and the salad - both we perfect. The complimentary bread with anchovy butter was great and could have eaten just that.”
  14. Grilled salmon fillet w/ pesto sauce Net +1
“‘Grilled Salmon Fillet w/ Pesto Sauce’: a dish with simple flavours is what made this taste super yum. The salmon fillet had that perfect smokey-char, along with the pesto sauce took it even further. The beautiful coral pink-peach color and texture was exactly what I was looking for. This was also served with caramelised onions and oh yumm pair them flaky salmon with it and scrumptious level.”
  15. Henri farbe côte du rhône Net +1
“We had opted for a very nice Henri Farbe Côte du Rhône - not as heavy as your usual Bordeaux but makes a very nice pairing with the steak.”
  16. Josper grilled chicken w/ vegetables and mushroom sauce Net +1
“Mains are- ‘Josper Grilled Chicken w/ Vegetables and Mushroom Sauce’: what’s different about this chicken is the hybrid process of cooking the poultry. Wherein it has the flavour of the grill and the controlled cooking temperature of the oven. The whole point is to retain the moisture and flavours of the meat and oh boy, it was evident.”
  17. Kobe beef Net +1
“I have ordered beef carpaccio, Kobe beef with all the sides. One word: Unbelievable! Thanks to the chef and Hari - the whole team (!) is doing a perfect job. Thanks!”

Food 8

  1. Australian tenderloin Net −1
“The very expensive Australian tenderloin at Beef Bistro was a massive disappointment. Asked for "medium" got a dry "well done". Not only that, I had an achy stomach for a full day.”
  2. Beef tartar Net −1
“Unfortunately, when they make it, seasoning the beef tartar is a challenge, if you ask them low spice. That cow died in vain.”
  3. Bouillabaisse Net −1
“Food is generally good, though on this occasion the bouillabaisse was very thin (almost gruel like) and was stingy on the seafood. I had imagined and expected a richer broth with more generous sized and quantity of fresh seafood. I had to fish out what little seafood there was from the watery depths of the bowl. Still, importantly, the soup tasted fine.”
  4. Escargot Net −1
“Escargot also was well cooked, but criminally under-seasoned.”
  5. Fries Net −1
“Very sad to report that this previously consistent restaurant has changed - and not in a good way - the bearnaise sauce no longer has the same flavor, the texture of the US strip is different, even the fries were different.”
  6. Steak Net −1
“Ordered medium well but got my steak well done - tenderloin grade 6 but dint taste any special for price .”

The Bottom Line

Beef Bistro is a hotel-based French-style steakhouse in Al Garhoud, and the main reason to visit is the choice of substantial beef cuts. Reviews highlight the ribeye, T-bone, tomahawk and New Zealand six-week tenderloin, with the best experiences describing them as juicy, tender and cooked precisely. The French Beef Bourguignon is a useful alternative if you are not looking for steak.

The setting leans calm and date-friendly rather than lively: reviewers mention light jazz, candlelit tables, elegant furniture and outdoor seating. Service is often described as welcoming and attentive, and one diner valued the guidance on matching sauces and sides. Desserts are worth keeping in mind too, especially the vanilla crème brûlée, chocolate fondant and cheesecake.

There are two practical cautions. Beef Bistro is on the expensive side, particularly for premium cuts, and several diners received the wrong doneness, including medium or medium-rare steaks served more cooked than requested. Service can also slow down around busy periods, so allow extra time.

A few longer-term customers felt the décor and some recipes had lost consistency, although the steak quality remains the central draw.
