    Only neutral feedback

“* Nasi Uduk, Gado Gado and Soto Ayam are average in my opinion. The grilled chicken (I chose this instead of standard fried chicken in Nasi Uduk) wasn’t as sweet as what I had expected based on past experiences. Spicy tempe was a bit bland too. The glass noodles in Soto Ayam wasn’t fully cooked hence it was a little hard.”

The Bottom Line

Dapoer Kita is a relaxed Indonesian restaurant in Al Karama for comforting, spice-rich meals rather than polished surroundings. The menu gives first-timers plenty to explore, but Nasi Padang is the clearest starting point: reviewers praise it with rendang, coconut-based accompaniments and sambals. Beef rendang, iga bakar and mie goreng ayam are also repeatedly mentioned, while Es Cendol is a popular sweet, cooling finish.

The food is the main draw, supported by generous portions and prices many reviewers call reasonable. Service is another strength: diners describe the staff as warm, attentive and willing to explain dishes or adjust the spice level. The atmosphere is modest, cosy and home-like, though one review found it a little noisy.

The restaurant is also described as being a short walk from ADCB Metro Station by one visitor. Plan a little more carefully on weekends, when the restaurant can be busy and parking difficult. Nearby RTA parking lots may help, but allow time for the search.

Availability can vary too, with one diner finding several menu items unavailable. A separate review reported a metal screw in a Nasi Rendang dish; the charge was waived, although the diner wanted a more proactive response. Delivery is available, but check whether markups and delivery fees apply.
