What to Avoid (3)

Food 3

  1. Ayam kung pao chicken Net −1
“I ordered Ayam Kung Pao chicken on Talabat and this is the dish I received. The chicken was not flavoured with any kung pao sauce and there are no peanuts!! I think they gave me the wrong order or ran out of sauce or something. It was not good. I was very disappointed because all other dishes so far have been relatively good, and the first time I had the true ayam kung pao dish it was great. But this is NOT Ayum Kung Pao - do better and don’t make the mistake again or I won’t reorder”
  2. Cendol Net −1
“The cendol was a little strange, but I’m just assuming that that’s how Indonesians like their cendol. It doesn’t have the texture of the Malaysian cendol at all and it was not worth AED 15.”
  3. Gado-gado Net −1
“The restaurant is a shame to the incredibly tasty real indonesian food. The gado-gado was the worst one i had in my life.”

1

Allow time. Leave extra time when dining in, as reviews mention very long waits and orders taking around 20 minutes.

2

Prefer pickup. If ordering delivery, plan conservatively: one customer waited 2 hours 45 minutes and received cold food.

Common Concerns

Long waits

Food can take a long time at busy periods; one review described a very long wait, while another recorded a 20-minute order time.

Delivery delays

A delivery arrived 2 hours 45 minutes after ordering and was cold, so delivery timing appears less reliable than dining in.

The Bottom Line

Kuliner Nusantara Dubai is a casual Indonesian restaurant in Umm Hurair, located in a food-court setting. It is worth considering when you want Indonesian, Malaysian or Singaporean comfort food without committing to a more formal restaurant. Reviews particularly highlight nasi ayam penyet, Mee Rebus, bakwan and grilled dishes such as Iga Bakar.

The strongest feedback is about flavour and variety. One customer called the bakwan the best they had tried in Dubai, while another praised the smoky, seafood-filled Seafood Kwetiaw and the authentic street-food character of Nasi Goreng Kampung. Ayam Bakar, beef rendang and Mee Soto also receive positive mentions.

Portions are often described as large, and several diners consider the pricing reasonable. This is not always a quick or consistent stop. Customers have reported very long waits, and one delivery took 2 hours 45 minutes, arriving cold.

Cooking standards have also varied between visits. Service is commonly described as friendly, but there are contrasting reports of ignored customers, poor cashier attitude and a pickup order refused after acceptance. For a first visit, allow extra time, state your preferred spice level, and consider dining in or collecting rather than relying on delivery.
