  20. Easter brunch Net 0

    Only neutral feedback

“Easter Brunch — good, but misses the magic of Suq. We’ve been loyal fans of the brunch at Suq, which in our view set the bar for Dubai brunches. So when we headed to Jou Jou Brasserie for Easter Sunday, we came with high expectations. The experience was enjoyable — quality-wise, the drop from Suq is marginal. But the variety felt limited for what’s supposed to be a flagship Easter brunch. It didn’t feel particularly special or distinct; more like a solid hotel brunch than the standout event it could be. A few more differentiators in the spread would go a long way.”

Drinks 3

  1. Coffee Net +1
“The food, the coffee, the service and the vibes were all fantastic.”
  2. Detox juice Net +1
“Love the detox juice, the dice shots, buffalo milk and coconut yogurts, fresh fruits of every kind, Mediterranean vegetables and salads, pomegranate seeds, Mmmmmmmm.”
  3. Herbal tea with honey Net +1
“Food is delicious, very good herbal tea with honey.”
What to Avoid (2)

Food 2

  1. Pesto pasta Net −1
“To be fair there was a pesto pasta, but 'meh'.”
  2. Tomato spaghetti Net −1
“The expensive wine seemed barely a measure, the tomato spaghetti was size of child portion, the fish skin was soggy, and tho not the restaurants fault, a baby cried through the entire lunch and it was just rushed!”

Tips for a Better Visit

1

Check vegetarian options. If you do not eat meat or fish, ask about hot brunch mains before booking; one guest found only mediocre pesto pasta.

2

Confirm booking. For prepaid brunches, confirm the final total and billing arrangements in advance to avoid duplicated bills.

Common Concerns

Uneven service

Two diners reported slow, dismissive service, including delayed menus, incorrect coffees and a long wait for drinks.

Vegetarian gap

One brunch review found no substantial hot main-course choice for vegetarians beyond a basic pesto pasta.

Customer-reported prices

These are customer-reported mentions, not a current price list. Prices may have changed.

800 Dirham's

some salad

“Anyway, the atmosphere is wonderful, which is why I go (despite paying 800 Dirham's for some salad), and the saxophonist and singer were very good”

250 Dirham's

champagne package

“And with an increase of 250 Dirham's to upgrade to the champagne package, they are recovering 100% of the wholesale price of the champers, so it seems a little stingy”

The Bottom Line

Jou Jou Brasserie is a Mediterranean restaurant in Jumeirah within Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. It is geared towards breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, with reviews especially positive about the Saturday spread, pastries, seafood and desserts. For à la carte dining, the sea bass, beef ravioli, Niçoise salad and warm baked bread are among the more useful recommendations from diners.

The room has a polished French-brasserie feel, while the outdoor area is more garden-like, with birdsong and greenery mentioned during daytime visits. It works for a business lunch, a family brunch or a special occasion, and valet parking is noted at the hotel. Service is often described as knowledgeable and attentive, although the experience is not completely consistent.

Brunch is not automatically a slam dunk for every preference. Some guests found the buffet variety limited, and a vegetarian diner felt there was no worthwhile hot main beyond pesto pasta. Another review described slow service, an incorrectly prepared coffee order and delayed menus, while a family encountered confusion around prepaid booking and billing.

Ask about vegetarian choices, confirm brunch package details and allow extra time if you are visiting during a busy service.
