“•I brought the Mutton Biriyani home to eat later but couldn't control my urge to try out before putting in fridge! I had to know the original taste of pure Awadhi Biriyani! So the Biriyani was packed very nicely in a monogrammed packet with loads of informations, pictures of the heritage & legacy. Amount was too less though- compared to Dubai standards. I would say it's half of a Arsalan Biriyani amount. It looks quite Bland- but the taste grows on you. It's prepared with Basmati rice & contains two pieces of small to medium sized Mutton with bones. The meat was fantastically cooked- falls of the bone & Delicately spiced up. I would love to have more meats or bigger meat pieces with the rice. Raita was supreme.”

The Bottom Line

Tunday Kababi in Al Karama is a Mughlai restaurant for Lucknow-style Awadhi food, with the soft Galouti and Tunday kebabs as the main reason to visit. Diners commonly pair them with Mughlai paratha or sheermal, while the Awadhi biryani and Shahi Tukda give you worthwhile alternatives beyond kebabs. The kebabs are often described as juicy and melting in the mouth, and several reviews praise the biryani’s delicate Lucknow flavour and aroma.

The cooking is not universally received the same way, though: some Lucknow-born diners find the taste close to home, while others consider it modified or disappointing. The biryani is also relatively subtle rather than heavily spiced, so expectations matter. Service is usually reported as quick, polite and attentive, and the setting is described as comfortable for casual or family dining.

Still, one serious review reported flies, a dead fly on the table and hair in a paratha, so hygiene should not be dismissed. Portions and value are another recurring concern, with some diners finding the kebabs and biryani small for their prices. Parking around Al Karama can be difficult, and weekend table waits or unavailable dishes are worth planning for.
