Food 3

  1. Afghan style pulav Net −1
“I’ve had this Afghan style pulav in quite a few places, and usually, it’s mildly flavorful , comforting, and really well-balanced. But here, despite all the hype, it just didn’t hit right. It was too weirdly salty for my taste, and honestly, lacked that subtle richness Afghan pulav is known for. I couldn’t even finish it definitely not like the ones I’ve enjoyed elsewhere. Maybe it was just an off day, but it didn’t live up to the reputation. For the price n deal its a fair deal but the taste matters and the kofta was kinda dry”

The Bottom Line

Afghan Turk Palace Restaurant is a broad Afghan, Turkish, Shinwari and Pakistani dining spot in Al Qusais - Sector Indi Area 2. The strongest reason to come is the food: reviews repeatedly point to Qabuli pulao, kebabs and mutton dishes, with mutton Shanwari, chapli kebab and mantu among the most useful orders to consider. Portions are a real part of the appeal.

One reviewer said a serving was big for one person, while another found the pulao sufficient to share among three. The setting works for groups too, with spacious seating, private partition rooms and floor seating. Valet parking is available, and several customers describe it as free; that matters because one local review found parking difficult to locate without using valet.

The restaurant seems especially comfortable for diners who prefer mildly spiced food, and fresh naan, homemade yogurt and Afghani ice cream make worthwhile add-ons. Pricing is generally described as reasonable, though the only clear item price mentioned was 5aed for a large ice cream. There are two cautions.

One customer reported seeing a mouse enter the dining hall, and an iftar buffet review complained about limited variety, separately charged water and excluded tea. À la carte may be the safer choice if buffet inclusions matter.
